Oliver North

Oliver North is a real-life adventurer! He was a Marine, which means he was a brave soldier. He also became a TV host, telling stories about wars. Imagine being in the military and then on television! He was born a long, long time ago, on October 7, 1943. He's a person who has done many different things in his life.

When Oliver North worked for the President, he was part of a secret plan called the Iran-Contra affair. It was like a spy story! The plan involved selling weapons to a country called Iran, hoping to get some Americans back who were being held captive. But part of the money from selling those weapons was used to help rebels in another country, Nicaragua. This part of the plan was not allowed!

Because of the secret plan, Oliver North had to talk to important leaders in Congress. It was like a big school meeting where he had to explain what happened. He told them all about the plan. Even though he was accused of doing something wrong, he was later told he was free from all the charges because of what he said. It’s a complicated story!

After his time in the military and the secret plan, Oliver North became a famous TV host. He had a show called 'War Stories' where he talked about real wars. He also became the leader of a big group called the National Rifle Association. He's a person who has been in the news for many different reasons throughout his life.
