Noshir Gowadia

Noshir Gowadia was a clever engineer who used to design things for important projects. He was born a long, long time ago, on April 11, 1944. He was like a puzzle solver, but instead of puzzles, he worked with complicated machines and ideas. He was very good at his job, but sadly, he made some very bad choices later on.

Instead of using his smarts for good, Noshir Gowadia started sharing secret information with other countries. It was like he was giving away answers to a test he wasn't supposed to share! He was caught in 2005. Imagine if someone took your drawings for a cool new toy and gave them to someone else without asking. That's kind of what happened, but with much more serious secrets.

After being caught, Noshir Gowadia had to go to court. The judges found out he had shared secrets with countries like China, and also with people in Germany, Israel, and Switzerland. In 2010, he was found guilty of 14 different charges. It was a very serious situation, and he was given a long time to think about his actions.

Because of the secrets he shared, Noshir Gowadia was sentenced to 32 years in prison. That's a really, really long time! It means he had to stay in a special place for many, many years. This story teaches us that it's super important to be honest and to protect important information. Being a good engineer means using your brain to help people, not to cause trouble.
