Niccolò and Maffeo Polo: Brave Travelers!

Niccolò and Maffeo Polo were from a super cool city called Venice. Imagine a city built on water, with boats instead of cars! Venice is in Italy, a country shaped like a boot. One of the most amazing things they did was travel to meet a very important leader called the Great Khan. He ruled a giant part of Asia. The Polos were some of the first Europeans to travel that far and meet him. They brought back stories and ideas from their travels, which was super exciting for everyone back home in Venice.

Niccolò and Maffeo Polo are also famous because Niccolò's son was the explorer Marco Polo! The brothers took young Marco on their next big trip. Marco wrote down all about their adventures, and his book became super famous. It told people in Europe all about the amazing places and cultures they saw in Asia.
