Nelson Piquet

Imagine a super-fast race car driver named Nelson Piquet! He was born in Brazil a long, long time ago, and he loved going fast. Before he became a famous race car driver, he even tried playing tennis! But racing was his real passion. He won so many races that he became a world champion not just once, but THREE times! That's like winning the biggest prize in a game three years in a row!

Nelson started out racing go-karts, which are like tiny, super-fast cars you can drive around a track. He was so good that he became the go-kart champion of Brazil! Then, he went to Europe to race even faster cars.

He won so many races in a special type of car called Formula Three that he broke a record that had stood for years! It was like being the fastest runner in the whole school, but for racing!

Nelson Piquet raced in a super-exciting competition called Formula One. These cars are incredibly fast, like rockets on wheels! He won his first world championship in 1981. Then he won again in 1983, and for a third time in 1987. Imagine winning the biggest trophy in a sport three times! He won 23 races in total, which is a lot of victories. He was one of the best drivers in the world.

After he stopped racing Formula One cars, Nelson Piquet tried other kinds of racing, like in America. Now, he's retired from racing and is a businessman, which means he runs his own companies. He's a very famous person in Brazil. Even though he's not racing anymore, people still remember him as one of the greatest Formula One drivers ever!
