Before Neil became a famous singer, he was a journalist! That means he wrote for magazines, like a detective finding interesting stories. He even worked for a magazine called Smash Hits, which was all about music. He was so good at it, he became an assistant editor! Then, in 1981, he teamed up with his friend Chris Lowe, and they decided to make music together.
