Nefertiti

Imagine a queen who lived a super long time ago, over 3,000 years ago! That was Nefertiti. She was a very important queen in ancient Egypt, married to a pharaoh named Akhenaten.

They lived during a time when Egypt was super rich and powerful. Nefertiti was known for her beauty and her strong influence. She was a key figure in a big change happening in Egypt, making people focus on worshipping the sun disc.

Nefertiti and her husband, Akhenaten, decided to change Egypt's religion. Instead of worshipping many gods, they wanted people to focus on Aten, which was the sun disc. Think of it like everyone suddenly deciding to only play with one special toy!

This new way of worshipping was called Atenism. They believed the sun disc was the most important thing, and they even built a whole new city for it. Nefertiti was right there with her husband, leading this big change.

One of the coolest things about Nefertiti is a beautiful statue of her head that was found! It's called a bust, and it looks so real, like she could almost talk. This bust is super famous and has been copied many, many times. It was found in the old workshop of an artist named Thutmose. It’s like finding a famous toy that someone made a long, long time ago and it's still perfect!

Some people think that after her husband passed away, Nefertiti might have become a pharaoh herself! This is a big mystery that historians are still trying to solve. If she did rule, she would have been one of the few women to ever be a pharaoh. She might have even changed her name and moved the capital city back to a different place.
