Nairobi: The Green City in the Sun!

Nairobi is a big city in Kenya, a country in Africa. Its name comes from a special Maasai phrase that means 'place of cool waters.' It's called the 'Green City in the Sun' because it has lots of trees and sunshine. It's like a big, sunny garden with a city in it! Nairobi is located in the south-central part of Kenya.

Guess what? Nairobi is the only capital city in the whole world that has a national park right inside its borders! This means you might see zebras or giraffes not too far from tall buildings. It's like having a playground and a safari park all in one place! This amazing park is called Nairobi National Park.

A long, long time ago, in 1898, people building a train track decided to make a stop in Nairobi. They liked it because it was high up, had nice weather, and plenty of water. The town grew super fast, and soon it became the capital city of Kenya in 1907. It was a busy place for trains and people!

Lots of people live and work in Nairobi. It's a very important place for businesses in East Africa. People here work in many different jobs, like in banks or helping international groups. Nairobi is also a place where people learn, with many schools and places to get smart!
