Who Was Murry Wilson?
Murry Wilson was a dad who loved music! He was the father of Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, who became the super-famous band, The Beach Boys. Murry was a songwriter himself and helped his sons get started in the music world. He even managed them when they first began their amazing journey! He was a busy man, also running a business to make things that lasted a long time.
The Music Maker's Family
Murry grew up in a home where things weren't always easy. But he made sure his own children had music in their lives. He wrote songs, and some of them were even played by other singers! His most famous songs were 'Two-Step, Side-Step' and 'Break Away'. He also helped produce some of The Beach Boys' very first songs, like '409' and 'Surfin' Safari'. Imagine helping your kids make hit songs!
A Big Personality!
Murry was very involved with The Beach Boys. Sometimes, he was so involved that the band felt he was a bit too much! They decided to find a new manager so they could make their music their way. Even after that, Murry kept making music and even recorded his own easy-listening album called 'The Many Moods of Murry Wilson'. He was always connected to the music world.
What Happened to the Music?
Murry Wilson was in charge of the company that owned The Beach Boys' songs for a while. Later in his life, he sold that company for a lot of money. Sadly, Murry passed away when he was 55 years old. Even though he is gone, the music he helped create and his connection to The Beach Boys is still remembered today.
