Miss Universe 2023: A Crown for Nicaragua!

Miss Universe 2023 was a super special event where women from 84 different countries showed off their talents and confidence. It was the 72nd time this big competition happened! This year, the winner was Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua.

She was crowned by the previous winner, R'Bonney Gabriel from the United States. It was a huge moment because it was Nicaragua's very first time winning this amazing prize!

This year's dazzling show took place in a big building called the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador. Think of it like a giant school gymnasium, but filled with sparkly lights and a huge stage! Lots of people came to watch, and even more watched on TV. It was a night full of excitement, beautiful dresses, and cheering for all the contestants.

Guiding us through all the fun were some very special hosts! Jeannie Mai and Olivia Culpo, who also hosted last year, were there. They were joined by Maria Menounos. Backstage, making sure everyone knew what was happening, were Catriona Gray and Zuri Hall. And guess what? A famous singer named John Legend even performed! He sang some amazing songs for everyone watching.

Winning Miss Universe is a really big deal! It means you are recognized for your grace, intelligence, and how you can inspire others. For Nicaragua, it was extra special because it was their first-ever win in this pageant, and also their first win in any of the 'Big Four' international beauty pageants. It shows that with hard work and dreams, anything is possible!
