Mike Pence

Imagine being a leader for a whole country! Mike Pence is a politician, which means he's someone who works in government. He was born a long time ago, on June 7, 1959, in a place called Columbus, Indiana. He went to college and became a lawyer, which means he knows a lot about rules and laws. He worked in different jobs in government before becoming a very important person!

Mike Pence started his career in Indiana, a state in the United States. He was like a captain for his state, serving as its governor. Then, he got a super big job: he became the Vice President of the United States! That's like being the second-in-command, helping the President lead the country. He worked in the White House, a famous building where the President lives and works.

As Vice President, Mike Pence had some important jobs. He helped lead a group called the National Space Council, which thinks about space exploration. He also helped lead the White House Coronavirus Task Force, which worked to keep people safe during a time when a sickness was spreading. He was involved in many big decisions for the country.

One very important day was January 6, 2021. On this day, Mike Pence had to make a very difficult choice. Even though some people wanted him to do something different, he followed the rules and made sure that the election results were counted correctly.
