Mantua is a super cool city in Italy that looks like it's floating! It's surrounded on three sides by three big, shiny lakes called the Upper, Middle, and Lower Lakes. These lakes were made a long, long time ago to help protect the city. The water comes all the way from a giant lake called Lake Garda. It's like having a natural moat around your house, but way bigger!

A very long time ago, Mantua was ruled by a powerful family called the Gonzaga. They made the city super fancy with beautiful buildings and amazing art. In fact, the old part of Mantua and a nearby town are so special that they are protected by UNESCO, like a treasure for everyone to see!
