Major League Soccer

Major League Soccer, or MLS, is like the super-league for soccer in the United States and Canada. Imagine 30 teams all playing their best to win! It's the highest level of soccer, meaning the players here are super skilled. Think of it as the biggest and best soccer party happening across two countries, all organized by soccer fans and experts.

Soccer is played with your feet, not your hands (except for the goalie!). Two teams try to kick a round ball into the other team's net. The team with more goals wins! In MLS, teams play a long season, and the best ones get to play in exciting playoff games to see who is the ultimate champion. It's a game of speed, teamwork, and amazing ball control.

MLS started in 1996, not too long ago! It was created because the USA hosted the big World Cup soccer tournament in 1994. At first, it was a little tricky, but now it's super popular. Famous players from all over the world have come to play in MLS, making the games even more exciting for everyone watching.

To play soccer, you need a round ball, of course! Players wear special jerseys, shorts, and cleats (shoes with little spikes) to help them run fast and grip the grass. Goalkeepers wear gloves to catch the ball. The most important thing is teamwork and having fun while you play, just like the pros in MLS!
