Lucca

Lucca is a super cool city in Italy, a country shaped like a boot! It sits in a flat, green area called a plain, right near a big blue sea. A river named Serchio flows through it, like a watery road. The weather is usually nice, not too hot and not too cold, perfect for playing outside!

What makes Lucca extra special are its amazing walls! They were built a super long time ago, like when your grandparents' grandparents were little, and they still go all the way around the city. You can even walk or ride your bike on top of them! It’s like the city is wearing a giant, protective hug that’s kept it safe for ages.

Inside Lucca, there are old buildings and cool places to see. There’s a tower called the Guinigi Tower that’s as tall as a 10-story building, and guess what? It has trees growing on top! Lucca is also famous because many amazing musicians were born there, like Giacomo Puccini, who wrote music that makes you feel all sorts of feelings.

Lots of people live in Lucca, about as many as in a big school! They are called Lucchese. They speak Italian, the same language spoken in Italy. People in Lucca love art and music, and they work hard to keep their city beautiful and full of history. It’s a place where old stories and new life mix together.
