Meet the Famous Poet!

Lord Byron was a super famous poet who lived a long, long time ago, from 1788 to 1824. He wrote poems that people loved to read, like long adventure stories called 'Don Juan' and 'Childe Harold's Pilgrimage'. His poems were so popular that many people knew them by heart! He was a big part of a time called the Romantic movement, where poets wrote about feelings and nature.

Adventures in Europe!

After he finished school, Byron traveled all over Europe! He even lived in Italy for seven years. He had to leave England because some people were very angry with him. While in Italy, he hung out with his friend Percy Bysshe Shelley, who was also a famous poet. They probably talked about poems and adventures all the time!

A Hero in Greece!

But Byron didn't just write poems. He also loved freedom! He went to Greece to help them fight a war against another country called the Ottoman Empire. The Greeks were so grateful that they still think of him as a hero today! He was like a superhero poet who used his bravery to help others.

A Short but Bright Life

Sadly, Lord Byron died when he was only 36 years old. He got sick while he was helping the Greeks in their fight. Even though he died young, his poems are still read today, and his bravery in Greece made him a legend. He showed that you can be a writer and a fighter all in one!
