London's Awesome Neighborhoods!

Imagine a giant map of England! London is a super big city right in the middle of it. The London boroughs are like the city's different neighborhoods, all squished together to make one huge place. They are all part of Greater London, which is like the whole big family of London. Think of it like your school playground, but instead of swings and slides, there are streets, parks, and houses!

A long, long time ago, London wasn't as big as it is today. It grew and grew! In 1965, a big change happened, and they created these 32 special areas called boroughs. They took smaller towns and villages and joined them together to make these new, bigger neighborhoods. It was like putting together puzzle pieces to make a giant London picture!

Each of the 32 London boroughs has its own team of grown-ups called a council. These councils are like the class monitors at school, but for the whole neighborhood! They help make decisions about important things like schools, libraries, and making sure the rubbish gets collected. Some councils even have a leader who is like the head teacher!

People in London boroughs do all sorts of jobs! Some people work in schools teaching kids, others are doctors and nurses helping people who are sick. There are also people who build things, drive buses, and even people who make art! It’s a busy place with lots of different jobs for everyone.
