Imagine a super important job where you help make big decisions for a whole country! That's what a Prime Minister does in Australia. They are like the captain of a big ship, guiding everyone. Since 1901, 31 different people have had this special role. Most of them were men, but one super-smart woman has also been Prime Minister!

Some Prime Ministers have been in charge for a super long time, like Robert Menzies who was Prime Minister for 18 years! That's longer than you've been alive! But guess what? One Prime Minister, Frank Forde, was only in charge for seven days. That's less time than a school week! It shows that being Prime Minister can be a very quick job for some.

Sometimes, Prime Ministers have to leave their job. This can happen if they don't have enough people in the government supporting them, or if their own team decides to pick someone new. Sadly, some Prime Ministers have even passed away while doing their important work. It's a big responsibility!
