Who's Part of the Rainbow?

Imagine a big, colorful rainbow! The LGBT community is like that rainbow, made up of many different kinds of people. 'LGBT' stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender. These are words that describe how people feel about who they love or how they feel about being a boy or a girl.

Everyone in this community is special and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, just like everyone else!

A Long, Long Time Ago...

People have been different and loved in different ways for a very, very long time, even before there were words like 'LGBT'! But for a long time, people who were different were sometimes treated unfairly. Over many years, brave people started to speak up and say that everyone should be allowed to be themselves and love who they love.

They held parades and events to show everyone that being different is okay and something to be proud of!

Why They Shine So Bright!

The LGBT community matters because it reminds us that love comes in all shapes and sizes. It shows us that being true to yourself is super important. When everyone is accepted for who they are, our world becomes a more colorful and interesting place, like a playground with lots of different games to play!

It helps us learn to be kind and understand people who might seem a little different from us.

Celebrating Together!

You might see rainbow flags flying high during special times, like Pride Month! These flags are a symbol of the LGBT community. People celebrate with parades, music, and lots of fun events. It's a time to show everyone that they are proud of who they are and that they are loved. It’s like a big party where everyone is invited to be happy and free!
