Leatherman (vagabond)

Once upon a time, there was a mysterious man called the Leatherman. He was famous because he wore a whole suit made out of leather! It wasn't just a jacket and pants, but a whole outfit, all stitched together from tough leather.

He walked around for many, many years, like a traveling superhero, but without the superpowers. He was a bit like a friendly ghost, appearing and disappearing on his special route.

The Leatherman's most amazing feature was his incredible leather suit. It was handmade and probably very warm and strong, perfect for walking long distances in any weather. Think of wearing a whole suit of armor, but made of soft, flexible leather! This suit helped him stay comfortable as he traveled, and it made him super easy to spot. Everyone knew him by his unique, all-leather look.

The Leatherman had a very special job: he walked a giant loop, like a giant racetrack, that was 365 miles long! That's like walking from your house to the beach and back many, many times. He would walk this same path over and over again, visiting the same towns about once a month. It was like he had a secret map and followed it perfectly, year after year, for over 30 years!

Nobody really knows where the Leatherman came from or why he lived this way. He spoke a little bit of English, but sometimes he spoke French, which made people think he might be from Canada. When he passed away, they found a French prayer book with him.

He was a kind man who didn't hurt anyone, and he became a legend in the towns he visited. His story is like a puzzle that no one has ever fully solved.
