Later, he traveled even farther to places like Los Angeles and Chicago. These cities were like giant playgrounds for music, where he played his trombone for lots of people.

Making Music That Made People Dance!

Kid Ory was a trombonist, which means he played a long, shiny instrument called a trombone. He was super good at making special sounds, like a sliding noise, that made jazz music extra fun. His music was so exciting that it made people want to tap their feet and dance! He helped make jazz music famous all over the place.

A Star on the Radio!

Kid Ory and his band were so popular that people could hear them on the radio! Imagine your favorite song coming out of a radio speaker. Kid Ory's music was like that for many people. He even played on a show called The Orson Welles Almanac. His music was so special that someone even started a record company just to record his band!

The End of a Musical Adventure

After many years of making wonderful music, Kid Ory decided to take a break. He retired when he was quite old and moved to a beautiful place called Hawaii. It's an island with beaches and warm weather. Sadly, he passed away there, but his amazing jazz music still makes people happy today!
