Karl Malone

Imagine a super strong basketball player who was so good, people called him 'the Mailman' because he always delivered! That was Karl Malone. He played for a super long time, 18 whole years, which is longer than you've been in school!

He was a star player for the Utah Jazz, a team in a state far away. He was so good, he won a special award twice, called the Most Valuable Player award. That means he was one of the very best players in the whole league!

Karl Malone grew up far from the snowy mountains of Utah. He was born in a place called Louisiana. He loved playing basketball even when he was young.

He played for his college team, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Then, in 1985, the Utah Jazz picked him to play for them. It was like getting picked for the best team ever!

He played with another amazing player named John Stockton, and together they were like a superhero duo, making incredible plays.

Did you know Karl Malone scored SO many points that he's third on the list of all-time NBA scorers? That's a LOT of baskets! He scored 36,928 points.

He was so important that he was named one of the 50 greatest players of all time, and then again for the 75th anniversary of the NBA. That's like being picked for the Hall of Fame of awesome athletes!
