Joshua David Shapiro, born June 20, 1973, embarked on a career dedicated to public service, rooted in a strong legal and political education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Rochester and subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. His initial foray into national politics involved serving as a senior adviser to U.S.

Senator Robert Torricelli, providing him with critical insights into federal legislative processes and policy-making. This experience was instrumental in shaping his understanding of governance. Shapiro then transitioned to state-level politics, successfully challenging an incumbent Republican to win a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2004.

Representing the 153rd legislative district from 2005 to 2012, he actively participated in crafting legislation and advocating for his constituents, demonstrating an early commitment to constituent service and policy development.

Following his service in the state legislature, Shapiro took on a pivotal role in county-level administration.
