Where is Johor?

Johor is a super special place at the very bottom of Malaysia, like the toe of a boot! It’s so far south that it’s super close to Singapore, which is like a tiny island next door. To its north, it has friends like Pahang and Malacca. Johor is also like a bridge, with water all around it, connecting to Indonesia on the other side. It’s a busy spot where lots of boats travel!

What's Johor Like?

Johor has tall green trees and a warm, sunny climate all year round, like a never-ending summer vacation! You can find big hills and mountains, with Mount Ledang being the tallest, reaching way up into the sky. The land is mostly flat, perfect for exploring. It’s a place full of nature’s wonders, from lush rainforests to interesting rock formations that look like giant sleeping giants.

People and Fun!

Lots of people live in Johor, making it the second most crowded place in Malaysia! They come from different backgrounds and have many fun traditions. One cool dance is called Zapin, where people move their feet super fast. They also have a dance with pretend horses called Kuda Kepang. Everyone is friendly and loves to share their culture, making Johor a colorful and exciting place to visit.

Johor's Big Jobs!

Johor is a super important place for making and selling things. It has one of the busiest ports in the whole world, where giant ships bring and take away lots of goods. They are also really good at making things in factories and are even becoming super smart with computers and robots! This helps Johor be a very important part of Malaysia’s money-making team.
