The Amazing Ill River!

The Ill River is a super long river in a part of France called Alsace. It's like a long, winding ribbon that starts way up in the mountains and flows all the way to a much bigger river called the Rhine. It's so long, it's longer than 200 football fields put together! It travels through pretty towns and green countryside, making the land happy and healthy.

This river is a very important helper! It brings water to lots of places and even helps protect a city called Mulhouse from getting too wet. When the river gets close to Mulhouse, a lot of its water is sent down a special channel to another river, like a detour, to keep the old buildings safe from floods. It's like having a superhero to protect the town!

In the beautiful city of Strasbourg, the Ill River is like a watery road! It flows through the old part of town, past cute houses and little bridges. Long ago, the river's water was so strong it could spin big wheels to help make flour or soften leather.
