Forensic hypnosis, while controversial and subject to strict guidelines, has been used in attempts to recover memories in witnesses, though its reliability remains a subject of debate. Future research is likely to focus on refining our understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of hypnosis, developing more precise methods for assessing hypnotizability, and expanding its application in areas such as chronic disease management and mental health recovery.
