Hooghly River

The Hooghly River is like a big, watery road in a place called West Bengal, India. It's actually a special branch that splits off from a much bigger river, the Ganges. Think of the Ganges as a giant tree trunk, and the Hooghly is one of its biggest branches!

It starts its journey near a town called Giria and flows all the way south, passing by a huge city called Kolkata, before splashing into the big Bay of Bengal.

This river isn't just for looking at! It helps farmers grow yummy food by giving water to their fields. It's also super important for factories and businesses that make things. Plus, the river helps decide how the weather is in the area. It's like a busy helper for everyone and everything around it. After that, it meets another river at a place called Nabadwip, and that's when it officially becomes the Hooghly. It's like getting a new name and a power-up!
