Hoggar Mountains

Far away in the Sahara Desert, in a country called Algeria, there are HUGE mountains called the Hoggar Mountains. They are like a giant rocky playground in the middle of the sand! These mountains are so big, they cover an area as large as many, many football fields put together. It's a very hot and dry place, so not many plants or animals can live there, but it's still super cool!

Inside the Hoggar Mountains is a special park called the Ahaggar Cultural Park. This park is home to the tallest mountain in the whole range, and even the tallest mountain in all of Algeria! It's called Mount Tahat. Imagine a mountain so tall, it's like stacking many school buses on top of each other! This amazing mountain is a special place for people and nature.

People have lived in the Hoggar Mountains for a very, very long time. They are called the Tuareg people. They are known for their beautiful blue clothing and for being very good at traveling through the desert. They know all the secret paths and where to find water.
