History of firefighting

The very first organized group of firefighters started in a place called ancient Rome. Imagine a time with no fire trucks or hoses! Did you know that over 2,000 years ago, a clever inventor named Ctesibius made the first machine that could squirt water? It was like an early water gun! Later, another smart person named Hero made it even better. These inventions were super important because they helped people fight fires more effectively, even though they were very different from the powerful hoses we have now.
