Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning

But it wasn't until the early 1900s that people started inventing machines to control the temperature in buildings. Willis Carrier invented the first modern air conditioner in 1902, which was a huge step! Over time, these inventions got better and better, leading to the smart HVAC systems we have today that can heat, cool, and clean the air.

HVAC systems are super important because they help us feel good and stay healthy. When it's freezing outside, your heater keeps you warm so you don't get sick. When it's sweltering hot, your air conditioner cools you down so you don't get overheated.

Ventilation means fresh air is always moving around, which is important for breathing. Without HVAC, many buildings would be too uncomfortable to use, especially in places with very hot or very cold weather.

Heating systems use things like furnaces or boilers to make warm air or water, which then travels through pipes or ducts to warm up your rooms. Air conditioners work like a refrigerator for your house; they use special liquids to grab heat from the inside air and push it outside, making your home cool.
