Haut-Katanga Province

Haut-Katanga is a big, exciting place in a country called the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It's like a giant puzzle piece that was made not too long ago, in 2015! Before that, it was part of an even bigger area called Katanga.

Now, it has its own special name and its own important cities, like Lubumbashi, which is super busy and has lots of people living there. It's a place full of adventure!

Think of a giant cookie that got cut into four smaller cookies. Haut-Katanga is one of those smaller cookies! It used to be part of a much larger province called Katanga.

But then, it was decided to make four new, special provinces: Haut-Katanga, Haut-Lomami, Lualaba, and Tanganyika. Haut-Katanga got the part that used to be called Haut-Katanga district, plus two cities named Likasi and Lubumbashi. It's like getting your own special room in a big house!

Haut-Katanga is famous for something super cool: copper! It's part of a special area called the Copperbelt. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, where Haut-Katanga is, is one of the top places in the whole world for finding copper.
