Hastings Banda: Malawi's First Leader!

When Dr. Banda returned to Malawi, he became a very important leader. He worked hard to help Malawi become its own country, free from other rulers. It was a big fight, but he was brave! Finally, Malawi became a free nation, and guess who they chose as their first leader? Dr. Hastings Banda! He was like the captain of a brand-new ship, guiding it safely.

As the first president, Dr. Banda had a huge job. He wanted to make Malawi a better place for all its people.
