Hanno the Navigator

Hanno the Navigator was a super-duper explorer from a city called Carthage, a long, long time ago, like when dinosaurs might have still been around (but not really!). He was so good at sailing that some people even think he was a king! He took his big ships on a very long journey to see what was on the other side of the sea.

It was like going on a school trip, but way, way bigger and more exciting!

Hanno and his crew sailed their ships down the coast of Africa. Think of it like driving a school bus for days and days, but on the water! They saw new places and maybe even strange animals. The stories say they might have sailed so far they reached a place called Gabon, which is super far south! Or maybe they just went as far as the southern part of Morocco. It’s a bit of a mystery!

Hanno’s big adventure is mostly known from an old story that was written down. It’s like a treasure map of his journey!
