Greater Caucasus

Key Facts
Meet the Giant!
The Greater Caucasus is like a giant, bumpy backbone for a whole region! It's a super long chain of mountains, about as long as driving from your house to your grandma's house and back many, many times! It starts near the Black Sea, where you might go swimming, and goes all the way to the Caspian Sea, another huge body of water.
These mountains are so tall, some of them are way, way higher than the tallest playground slide you've ever seen!
A Snowy, Rocky Adventure!
Think of these mountains as having rocky feet and snowy hats! The lower parts are covered in rocks and sometimes green trees, but as you go higher, it gets colder and you'll find lots of snow, even in the summer. It's like having a giant ice cream cone made of rock and snow! The weather can change super fast here, so it's important to be prepared if you ever visit.
Bridges Between Seas!
This amazing mountain range acts like a giant bridge connecting two enormous seas: the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It's like a super-highway for nature! The mountains are so big that they create different kinds of weather on either side. Imagine one side being sunny and warm, and the other side being a bit cooler and cloudier, all because of the mountains in between!
Home to Amazing Views!
Even though it's a mountain range, people live in and around the Greater Caucasus. They have to be strong and clever to live in such a big, rocky place! The views from these mountains are incredible, with deep valleys and soaring peaks. It's a place full of natural wonders, like a giant's playground filled with amazing sights.
