Germaine Tillion

Germaine Tillion was a super smart lady from France who loved to learn about people and places! She was an ethnologist, which means she studied different cultures and how people lived. She traveled to a place called Algeria a long, long time ago to understand the people there better. She was also a hero during a big war called World War II.

During World War II, Germaine Tillion was part of the French Resistance. This was a secret group of brave people who worked against the bad guys trying to take over their country. They did important jobs like helping people escape and sharing secret information.

Germaine was so brave that she even ended up in a very scary place called a concentration camp, but she never gave up hope. Her courage is amazing!
