Għajn Ħadid Tower

Għajn Ħadid Tower is like a very old stone house that stands tall near the sea in Malta. It's not a house for people to live in now, but a special building from a long, long time ago. Think of it as a super old lookout post, where people could see far away. It’s made of big rocks stacked up high, and it’s been there for hundreds of years, watching over the water.

This tower was built by people who lived in Malta a very long time ago, around the year 1600. That’s even older than your grandparents’ grandparents! They were probably part of a group called the Knights of St.

John. These knights were like brave protectors, and they built many towers like this one to keep watch. They wanted to make sure their island was safe from ships that might come to cause trouble.

Għajn Ħadid Tower was super important because it helped people see far out into the sea. If any enemy ships were coming, the people in the tower could see them from a long way off. They could then warn everyone else on the island. It was like an early warning system! This helped keep the people and their homes safe. It was a very clever way to protect their home.

Today, the tower is still standing, but it looks a bit different. It’s not perfectly smooth and new anymore.
