Frank Costello: The Man Who Ran the Shadows

Frank Costello wasn't always a big boss. He was born in a country called Italy, and when he was little, his family moved all the way to America! He grew up in New York City, which is a super busy place. As a kid, he joined groups of friends who were a bit mischievous. He learned how to be clever and make important friends.

When Frank grew up, he met a friend named Lucky Luciano. Together, they got involved in a time called Prohibition. This was when it was against the rules to make or sell fizzy drinks like soda or even stronger stuff!

Frank and Lucky became really good at getting these drinks to people, even though it was tricky. They even joined a special 'club' of people who did similar things all over the country!

Frank became so important that he was like the leader, or 'boss,' of a big group called the Luciano crime family. He was in charge for a long time! He was known for being smart and not always using his fists, but his brain.

He was so good at being the boss that he even had to go to jail for a little while because he didn't pay his taxes right, which is like not paying your allowance to the government!

One day, someone tried to hurt Frank because they didn't like him being the boss. It was a scary moment, but Frank was lucky and survived! After that, he decided it was time to stop being the boss and retire. He lived a long life and passed away when he was very old, leaving behind stories of his time running things from behind the scenes.
