Forbes Expedition

The Forbes Expedition was like a big adventure in 1758! A British army, led by a brave general named John Forbes, wanted to capture a fort called Fort Duquesne. It was part of a bigger game called the French and Indian War. Think of it like two teams trying to win a special prize. This mission was super important for the British!

While marching towards the fort, the soldiers had a HUGE job: building a road! This wasn't just any path; it was called Forbes Road. Imagine building a road as long as 100 football fields! This road helped the army move supplies and soldiers much faster. It was like building a super-fast highway for the army to use.

The expedition got help from Native American tribes who decided not to help the French anymore. This was thanks to something called the Treaty of Easton. Because the French lost their friends, they got scared and decided to blow up their own fort before the British could even get there!
