Meet Flavio, the Time Traveler!

Flavio Biondo was a super smart guy who lived a long, long time ago, way back in the 1300s and 1400s. He was like a history detective, always looking for clues about the past. He was born in a city called Forlì in Italy.

Flavio loved reading and learning so much that he became one of the very first people to study history like we do today. He even discovered an old book by a famous writer named Cicero!

Flavio's Awesome Idea: Time Chapters!

Before Flavio, people didn't really have a clear way to think about all the history that happened. Flavio had a brilliant idea! He decided to split history into three main parts, like chapters in a giant book.

He called them Ancient times (like the Romans and Greeks), Medieval times (the knights and castles!), and Modern times (which is pretty much from his time until now). This helped everyone understand how things changed over the years.

A History Explorer in Rome!

Flavio moved to the amazing city of Rome when he was about 41 years old. Rome is full of ancient ruins, like old buildings and statues, and Flavio loved exploring them. He became a secretary for the Pope, who is like the leader of the Catholic Church.

Flavio even traveled with the Pope when they had to leave Rome for a while. He worked for several different Popes, always busy with his writing and his love for history.

Why Flavio is a History Star!

Flavio Biondo is super important because he helped us organize history. His idea of dividing time into Ancient, Medieval, and Modern is still used by historians today! He was also one of the very first people to be called an 'archaeologist,' which means he studied old things and places to learn about the past. He showed everyone how exciting and important it is to understand where we came from.
