Flatboat

A flatboat was like a super-duper big, flat box that floated on water. It had a flat bottom and square ends, kind of like a giant wooden bathtub. These boats were built to carry lots of things, like furniture or even people, down rivers. They were strong and sturdy, perfect for long journeys on the water.
