The First Fleet Adventure!

The First Fleet was like a super-long parade of 11 ships that sailed all the way from England to Australia. These ships weren't just any ships; they carried over 1,400 people, including sailors, soldiers, and even people who had made mistakes and were sent to start fresh. It was a very long journey, like going to school for more than 250 days straight!

These 11 ships set sail from a place called Portsmouth in England. They traveled a super far distance, more than 24,000 kilometers! That's like driving around the whole world almost two times! They sailed for over 8 months, which is longer than your whole school year. They were looking for a good place to build a new home for everyone.

When the ships finally arrived, they first saw a place called Botany Bay. But the captain, Arthur Phillip, thought it wasn't quite right. So, they sailed a little further north and found a beautiful harbor called Port Jackson. This became the very first place where people from Britain started living in Australia, and it was the beginning of a whole new adventure for the country.
