Extremadura

Extremadura is a special part of Spain, way over on the western side, almost touching Portugal! It's like a giant puzzle piece in the middle of the country. Two super long rivers, the Tagus and the Guadiana, zoom through it from east to west, like watery highways.

It's made up of two really, really big areas called provinces: Cáceres and Badajoz. Think of them as two huge playgrounds side-by-side!

This place is a paradise for animals! There's a famous park called Monfragüe, which is like a super-duper nature reserve. It's so important that it's now a National Park! You can also find the International Tagus River Natural Park. These places are like giant homes for all sorts of amazing creatures. It's a wild and wonderful place where nature gets to shine!

Extremadura is a very important place for Spain's future. It has lots of energy, like a giant battery, and even has special rocks called lithium, which are used to make batteries for electric cars and phones. This means Extremadura is helping Spain become a cleaner, greener place by using less yucky fuel and more clean energy. It's like being a superhero for the planet!

Did you know that Extremadura has a special day just for it? It's called the Day of Extremadura and it's celebrated on September 8th! It's a day to remember all the cool things about this region. The main city where important decisions are made is Mérida, but the biggest city, where most people live, is called Badajoz. It's a land full of history and nature!
