He got really famous for playing characters who were a little bit sad or confused, but always interesting.

Dustin Hoffman won two of the biggest awards in acting, called Academy Awards! He won one for playing a dad going through a tough time in a movie called 'Kramer vs. Kramer'. He won another for playing a super smart person with autism in 'Rain Man'. He was so good, he was even nominated for more awards for movies like 'The Graduate' and 'Tootsie', where he dressed up as a woman!

Dustin Hoffman has been in movies that are funny, exciting, and even a little bit scary. He was in 'Hook', where he played the grumpy pirate Captain Hook! He also lent his voice to characters in the 'Kung Fu Panda' movies, making us laugh with his funny voices. He even directed a movie called 'Quartet' where he helped tell a story from behind the camera.
