Who is David Hogg?

Imagine a young person who, after something really sad happened at his school, decided to speak up and ask for important changes. That's David Hogg! He was born on April 12, 2000.

When he was a student, he was at a school called Stoneman Douglas High School when a terrible shooting happened. Instead of staying quiet, David became a leader, encouraging other young people to share their thoughts and ask for safety.

Becoming a Loud Voice!

After the shooting, David and his friends didn't want things to stay the same. They started a big movement called #NeverAgain. It was like a giant team of kids saying, 'We've had enough, and we want things to be safer!' They organized marches and even asked people to stop watching certain TV shows until changes were made. It was like a playground protest, but for grown-up rules!

A Book and a Big Honor!

David and his sister, Lauren, even wrote a book together called '#NeverAgain: A New Generation Draws the Line'. It became a bestseller, meaning lots of people wanted to read it! They were so generous that they promised to give all the money they made from the book to charities.

In 2018, a very important magazine called TIME named David one of the 100 most influential people in the world. That's a huge deal!

Making a Difference Today

David continues to be a voice for what he believes in. He's also started a company that makes pillows, which is pretty cool! He believes in having leaders who are honest and care about everyone. He shows us that even when things are tough, one person can inspire many others to work together for a better future. He's a reminder that young voices are super important!
