Council of Ministers (Soviet Union)

The Council of Ministers was like the main team of grown-ups who helped run the Soviet Union, a very big country that doesn't exist anymore. Think of them as the people who made important decisions, like deciding what schools should teach or how to build new roads. They were in charge of making sure everything in the country worked smoothly, kind of like how your teacher makes sure your classroom runs well.

They had lots of different jobs to do!

The Council of Ministers was chosen by the government, which was led by the Communist Party. The most important person in the Council was the Chairman, who was like the captain of the team. He was usually also the leader of the whole country!

It wasn't like picking teams for a game; these jobs were very serious and important. They were picked because they were trusted to do a good job running things.

This Council was super important because they were the ones who actually did the work of running the country every day. They made sure factories made things people needed, like clothes and toys. They also decided how to share food and resources.
