Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist)

The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), or CPN (UML) for short, is like a big team in Nepal that helps make important decisions for the country. They are one of the biggest teams there! Think of them like a super important club that helps decide how things should be run. They have been around for a long time, helping shape Nepal's story.

This team wasn't always called CPN (UML). It was formed in 1991 when two other teams, the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist–Leninist), decided to join forces! It was like two friends deciding to become a super-duo. They became a really big player in Nepal's government after a time when there weren't many teams allowed to play.

This team has had leaders who became Prime Ministers of Nepal, which is like being the captain of the whole country! They have led the government six times. Sometimes they are the main team in charge, and sometimes they work with other teams to get things done. They have a lot of members, like a huge school with thousands of students!

Recently, this team has been in the news a lot. Some people have said they weren't being fair, and there were big protests. The leader, KP Sharma Oli, even stepped down because of these protests. Now, they are trying to figure out how to be the best team they can be for Nepal's future. They are still a very important team in the country's big game!
