Clement Attlee was a very important person in Britain's history. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1883. He wasn't a loud or flashy person, but he was super smart and cared a lot about making things fair for everyone.
He became the leader of a political group called the Labour Party and later, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Think of him as a captain of a big ship, guiding the country through tricky times after a huge war.

When Clement was younger, he saw lots of people who didn't have much money or good homes. This made him want to help. He decided to work in politics to try and make life better for them.
