Chengde

Chengde is a city in China, far away from Beijing, like a big trip! It's in a place called Hebei province. Think of it like being in a different state or region. It's about as far from Beijing as driving from your house to a big city a few hours away. The weather there can be nice and warm in the summer, perfect for playing outside!

The most famous thing about Chengde is a HUGE place called the Mountain Resort. It was like a giant palace and a super big park all rolled into one! Emperors, who were like kings, used to go there in the summer to escape the heat in their main palace. It had beautiful gardens and buildings where they could relax and have fun.

Chengde is a city where many people live. Imagine a city with more people than all the kids in your whole school district, and then some! In 2017, there were over 3 million people living there. That's a lot of neighbors! They all live and work in this interesting city.
