Charles Manson

Imagine a person who loved music and wanted to be famous. Charles Manson was like that. He was a singer and songwriter who gathered a group of followers called the Manson Family. They lived together in California a long time ago, in the 1960s and 1970s. He was known for his ideas and for leading this group.

Charles Manson and his followers, the Manson Family, believed in some unusual ideas. They listened to music, especially songs by The Beatles, and thought they understood secret messages. Manson believed these messages were about a big fight coming. He thought he was being told what to do by these songs. This was a very strange way to think about music!

Sadly, some people in the Manson Family did very bad things. They were involved in some terrible crimes, including murders. Because of these events, Charles Manson was put on trial. Even though he didn't do the hurting himself, people believed his ideas helped cause the crimes. He was found guilty and sent to prison for a very long time.

Before all the sad events, Charles Manson really wanted to be a musician. He even had a song recorded by a famous band called The Beach Boys! It was called 'Never Learn Not to Love.' He also hoped to become a movie star, but that didn't happen. His life took a very different and sad turn instead.
