Charles wanted to do something amazing: fly his plane, the 'Spirit of St. Louis,' all the way from New York to Paris, France, without stopping! This was a super long trip, like flying across the whole country and then some, over the big, blue Atlantic Ocean.

He flew for more than 33 hours, all by himself, with no one to talk to but his airplane! It was a daring flight, and when he landed safely, everyone cheered!

When Charles Lindbergh landed in Paris, he became a superstar! People were amazed that one person could fly so far alone. His flight showed everyone that airplanes could travel across oceans.
