Chaldene

Chaldene is a moon that zooms around the giant planet Jupiter. Imagine Jupiter as a huge bouncy ball, and Chaldene is like a tiny speck of glitter orbiting it! It's not a planet itself, but a smaller body that goes around a bigger one. It's one of Jupiter's many moons, and it's pretty small, like a lumpy potato in space. Scientists think Chaldene is made of mostly rock. It's not a big, gassy world like Jupiter. It's more like a small, rocky asteroid that got captured by Jupiter's gravity a long, long time ago. It's not very big either, only about 3.8 kilometers (2.4 miles) across. That's not even as wide as some of the biggest cities on Earth! It's a small, rocky world on a big adventure.

Chaldene lives in a very busy neighborhood! Jupiter has lots and lots of moons, more than 90! Chaldene is one of the inner moons, meaning it's closer to Jupiter than many of its other moon friends. It's part of a group of moons that all orbit Jupiter in a similar way. They all share the same space, but Chaldene is known for its super-fast orbit and its small, potato-like shape.
