Cairo University

Cairo University is a super big school in Egypt, right across the river from the famous pyramids! It's like a city just for learning. It started a long, long time ago, in 1908. Think of it as one of the oldest big schools in Egypt, older than your grandparents' grandparents! It has grown so much since then, with lots of buildings for different subjects.

At Cairo University, students go to special classes called faculties. There are 20 different faculties, like one for reading stories (Arts), one for numbers (Science), and even one for helping people feel better (Medicine). Students learn from teachers who are experts in their fields. They study, do experiments, and share ideas to become super smart and ready for the future.

This university is super important because it helps people learn and invent new things. Some students who studied here have even won Nobel Prizes, which are like the biggest awards in the world for smart ideas! It's also one of the biggest universities on the whole planet, with about 155,000 students. That's more people than can fit in a huge stadium!

This amazing school wasn't always called Cairo University. It started as the Egyptian University. Later, it was named after a king, King Fuad I University. After a big change in Egypt, it got its name back as Cairo University. It moved to its current home in Giza in 1929, where many of its learning buildings are today.
